Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – The House of Representatives this week is beginning a series of public informational briefings as part of an effort to gather and disseminate critical information on government plans and initiatives underway to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The first briefing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8 before the House Health Committee and will review the status of Hawaiʻi’s disease investigation, testing, contact tracing, and isolation and quarantine programs. Reports will be presented by:
Dr. Libby Char, MD, Director, Hawaiʻi Department of Health
Emily Roberson, MPH, Disease Investigation Branch Chief
Dr. Sarah Kemble, MD, Acting State Epidemiologist
Edward Mersereau, LCSW, CAC, Deputy Director of Behavioral Health
Upcoming briefing topics include nursing facilities and care home updates; K-12 distance learning; Hawaii’s Safe Travels and tourism re-opening plan; and the State COVID-19 vaccination plan.
The weekly briefings will continue through the end of the year.
No public testimony will be accepted.
