Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – On Thursday, the House Committee on Human Services, the House Committee on Education, and the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services will hold a joint informational briefing to discuss access to early education through the expansion of the Stateʻs Preschool Open Doors Program for three and four-year-old students.
During the 2023 Legislative Session, the Legislature passed House Bill 961, expanding the Preschool Open Doors Program application process to eligible three‑year-old students beginning in 2024. This landmark legislation positions Hawaiʻi as one of the nation's top advocates for early education policy.
