Honolulu, Hawaiʻi – House and Senate conferees approved the Conference Draft (CD) 1 of House Bill 2024, Related to Mauna Kea to create the Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority.
This bill was initially introduced to enact the vision for a new management structure for Mauna Kea as recommended by the House of Representatives' Mauna Kea Working Group.
The conference committee on HB 2024 was created to resolve differences between the last House and Senate version of the bill. The conference committee is comprised of the following:
House: Representatives Tarnas, Nakashima, Branco, Co-Chairs; Eli, and McDermott
Senate: Senators Kim, Chair; Keith-Agaran, Co-Chairs; Kanuha, and Fevella
