REPRESENTATIVE PERRUSO AND COUNCILMEMBER WEYER TO HOLD LANDFILL TOWN HALL

Clarifying the Issues: Landfills, Water Aquifers, and Ag Land in Central Oʻahu

Wahiawā, Hawaiʻi – On Wednesday, January 15th, House Representative Amy A. Perruso and Honolulu City Council Vice Chair Matt Weyer will hold a community town hall to discuss concerns regarding the proposed landfill site northwest of Wahiawā and the potential environmental consequences of its location.

"Our community still has many unanswered questions, and this meeting is an opportunity for our voices to be heard regarding the proposed landfill site. We deserve transparency about the process, and a chance to express our concerns regarding the potential environmental consequences," said Representative Amy A. Perruso.

“Our community needs to stay informed and involved in decisions that affect our environment and quality of life,” said Councilmember Matt Weyer. “This town hall is an opportunity for residents to engage directly with stakeholders, share their concerns, and learn about the important steps we are taking to protect Oʻahu’s water sources from the potential threats of a new landfill near Wahiawā. Together, we can make a change and protect our home for future generations to come.”
