Speaker Scott K. Saiki issued the following statement regarding U.S. Attorney Kenji Price's intervention in Holly Carmichael v. David Ige, which challenges Governor Ige's 14-day traveler quarantine order:
"Governor Ige's 14-day quarantine order is not discriminatory because it applies to all travelers. Mr. Price's opposition to the quarantine disregards the health and safety of Hawaiʻi's residents and economy. Mr. Price's action has unfortunately undermined the credibility and objectivity of the Office of the U.S. Attorney."
